The Farm Hand

Lola went to work with Daddy today. She was so excited about feeding the cows and Olivia and I got a lot of cleaning done while she was gone!

All dressed for the job!

While waiting for Daddy, she sat down.....and was unable to get up!

A Fox and a Bobcat

In the past two weeks, Kasey shot both a fox and a bobcat. He was very excited about his capture as it is very rare. From what I understand, the bobcat was quite large for this area. He has arranged to have them both prepared for display. Now the only problem is where to display them. He'd like them in the living room, however, my decor style suggests otherwise! I think they'd be more comfortable in his office which has a much more masculine style. Unfortunately, Lola agrees with her daddy. She thinks our new "kitty" and "puppy" would go great in our most popular living space!

We've had a number of his friends requesting to see a photo....so here you are guys.....

Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas from the Loschen Family!

We've been very busy celebrating Christmas these past few days. Last night we went to Kearney for our niece Alexis's Christmas program then traveled back to Franklin for dinner and presents at Grandma and Papa Ziegler's house. On Christmas morning, we went to Papa Jay and Grandma Dee's for most of the day then went to Grandma Pauline's for the evening. We've spent a lot of the past two days either eating, opening presents or traveling in the car! Lola has had a blast playing with her cousins and Olivia has been cuddled and loved by grandmas, grandpas, aunts, uncles,.......basically anyone who could get their hands on her! The girls both received a lot of fun gifts, but haven't really had the chance to enjoy them yet. We have one more gathering tomorrow night in Kearney then we'll spend the rest of our break at home relaxing! It's been fun spending time with family and God has protected us over the miles we've traveled this Christmas season.

Our 6th Anniversary

Kasey and I celebrated our 6th Wedding Anniversary today! Unfortunately, we're all still feeling a bit under the weather so we had to postpone our planned date to another night. God has truly blessed our six years together and I'm proud to have Kasey as my husband.....

I look forward to the years to come.

Christmas Program and Christmas Pictures!

Sunday night was Lola and Olivia's Christmas Program at the Church. Lola was an angel and Olivia - being the youngest member of our congregation - played baby Jesus. Lola had been practicing her line for the program all week and was very excited about being an angel with wings! Unfortunately, on the big night she was feeling miserable and had been running a temperature all day. To keep her involved, Kasey kept her in a back room until it was time for her part. The big moment finally came. She ran up to the stage and when the microphone was put in front of her for her line, she just stood there. All we could hear was her deep breathing and sniffles from her stuffed nose! Despite her sudden stage fright, she looked pretty sweet in her costume!

When we got home, we thought we'd try to take some Christmas pictures of the girls while they were in their dresses. Take a look at the shots we got. Needless to say, we eventually gave up!

Snow Drifts and a Sick Girl!

We woke up to a ton of snow on Saturday morning. I'm sure it would have been fun to play in, but Lola has been sick all weekend coughing and fighting high fevers. Kasey was the only one who "played" in the snow as he used the four-wheeler to clear the neighborhood driveways!

A view of the snow from our window.

This is how Lola was most of the weekend.

This is Lola when the Tylenol kicked in - - the fun only lasted about and hour and she was back to the couch in misery :(.

Liv was such a trooper while we cared for the sick patient. Here she is sucking her fingers while I comforted her sick sister.

Olivia's New Talent

Olivia had us all laughing last night. She's discovered how to make silly noises by blowing through closed lips. Take a look....

Ella's Christmas Program

Ella's daycare had a Christmas Program last night at the Ramada. Ella sang Christmas songs and recited two poems with her class. She looked so old in her Christmas dress...our littlest niece is growing up so fast! Unfortunately, the pictures of her on stage did not turn out because of the lighting, but I did get some good shots of the girls playing and of Lola singing and dancing....she wanted to be on stage with Ella!

Five Little Friends

On Saturday, we took care of the Hindal girls (Bryannah 3, Caitlyn 1 and Sarah Grace 6 months). Our girls are very similar ages and had fun playing together.....

Playing in the snow!

"Girls' Night Out"

Our church womens' group had a progressive supper to celebrate the holidays. We went to Nancy Corrente's home for appetizers (salad, stuffed mushrooms and jalapeno poppers), Mom's for the main course (baked steak, scalloped potatoes, and sweet potato casserole) and Dianna Bislow's for dessert and gifts (chocolate mint cake and cranberry tea). The food was great and it was fun to have a night out with friends. Kasey and Shannon stayed home with Ella, Lola and Olivia....they watched a lot of car shows!

Grandma's Party

I was cleaning bedrooms upstairs today as Lola played. I could here her talking in her room so I went to see what she was up to. She had laid out a blanket and placed various toys and stuffed animals on it. The funniest part was that she was wearing a reindeer hat while "Happy Birthday" to Grandma (Mom's birthday was about a week ago)! She told me she was having a party. I'm guessing the guest of honor must not have gotten her invitation! Lola is pretty silly sometimes....

Olivia missed the party too...

Lola and Hank

The weather was beautiful today as temperatures reached 85 degrees! We played outside until dark. Of course, Lola wanted to spend her time outside with our dog, Hank. He really plays well with her and she enjoys giving him orders and sharing whatever she's eating with him!

Lola wanted to share her candy with Hank!

"Sit, Hank!"

"Good boy, Hank!"

Parade of Lights

We went to the Parade of Lights Saturday night. Ella and Lola loved watching the lit up floats...and collecting candy! We also went shopping downtown while the girls drank hot apple cider! The evening got us all excited for the upcoming holidays.

Lola, Emma and Olivia

On Thursday, Kyle, Holly and Emma came over for a night of pizza and playing. The girls had so much fun taking a bath and playing in their pajamas. It was a fun night with a lot of laughter!

Our Weekend

This weekend was a busy one. With deer season right around the corner, Kasey has been busy scouting for the "big one", sighting in his rifle and shopping at Cabelas! On Saturday, the doorbell rang nonstop as family and friends stopped by for a visit. Shannon, Jes and Ella were in town for the weekend and the girls had fun playing in the leaves and at the park. They also went to "Kids Fest" today and enjoyed playing the games.

My friends, Kim and Jenna, came by for a visit. We had fun catching up and playing with the girls. This was the first time Kim had seen Olivia. They cuddled all afternoon and it didn't take long for Liv to fall asleep in her arms!

The "baby whisperer"!

Lola and Olivia enjoyed the goodies everyone brought while we caught up.
