A Day at the Park

Lola's friend, Meredith, came to town for a visit one day this week. It was a nice day, so we took the girls to the park.

Liv kept chewing on the swing so we had to remove her!

Nightgowns

Last year, someone gave us some clothes to dig through before we passed them on to someone else who needed them. I pulled aside some pajamas for Lola--in my opinion you can never have too many p.j.'s! Lola instantly fell in love with a Barbie nightgown. We're not big fans of Barbie in general, but Lola calls it a princess dress. When the princess dress is dirty, she asks for it. We're looking for back-ups, but are having trouble finding nightgowns that aren't just for the hot summer.

The other night, Ella and Lola both wore their princess dresses.....

...while they played outside.

They also wore their "play glasses"! Our little nerds!

Picnics and Ice Cream

Spring is here! We're really feeling it these days as we've had more picnics and have been enjoying ice cream from the Frosty Mug!

A picnic at Grandma's house.

Liv wanted a chair too!

She was workin' the camera.

This is her dark, mysterious look!

Waiting for ice cream at the Frosty Mug!

The girls had to try each table until the found the "right one"!

Dr. Seuss' Horton Hears a Who!

We took Lola and Ella to their first movie this weekend.

Very exciting........

MS Walk 2008

Kasey's sister, Kristi, has Multiple Sclerosis and every year we participate in the MS Walk to raise money in support for the MS Society. The walk takes place at one of our favorite places, Yanney Park so we took Hank along. He loves to swim in the ponds and can run without a leash. The weather was perfect and it was a beautiful day for a walk!

Lola was super excited to have Hank with us!

After the walk, we went to Old Chicago for Lunch.

Lola shared a pizza with mommy but really enjoyed the pickles and lemons that her daddy and aunts gave her!

The Wiggles Concert

Emma got tickets from her grandparents to The Wiggles concert for her birthday. She invited Lola to be her guest, so Holly and I took the girls together. Jes and Ella met us there too. We had great seats and the girls were able to see all the members of the band up close....some of them even came down to the floor where we were sitting! The girls were sooooo excited! They spent the night dancing, singing and jumping around. It was a fun night had by all!

Thanks for the tickets Craig and Pat! Lola had a great time!

Four in One

It's been a while since I've last posted and a lot has happened so I'll throw out four posts in one to describe our weekend activities!

On Friday, we had Lola's friend Riley over to play. They set up a tea party in the living room. We later went to the park.

Ella stayed in town for the weekend while both Jes and Shannon were away. On Saturday, Dad, Kasey and Rob were working cattle on the farm so we drove over to see the cows and baby calves. Although the wind nearly blew them away, they still enjoyed it. Then we went over to my grandparents' house where they go to ride a horse. This adventure was talked about for the rest of the day! Later that evening, we all sat outside while Kasey worked on putting up a fence in our yard. On Sunday, we took her back to Kearney where we had lunch at Old McDonald's as Ella calls it!

On Sunday, we celebrated Grandma Beulah's birthday at the hospital. As always, Lola loved playing with Alexis. She is the "big cousin", as Alexis always says!

Last night, Caleb, Jess, and Trace came over for dinner. Lola loves having "Mr. Trace" (what she has started calling him) over to play and we always enjoy the Bislow's company.

Lola and Trace played with the big ball.

They liked taking turns rolling on it.

Liv wanted Daddy to let her go so she could play too!

Bottle time!

The Loschen Family Update

Olivia - Olivia is 7 (almost 8) months old now. She has two little teeth in the bottom of her mouth that are not very useful yet as she mostly eats mushy foods. We keep encouraging her that all that hard work she went through to get them will pay off someday when she can chew on a big fat cheeseburger! Although she is still learning to crawl, Liv has become more mobile. She's mastered the gear of reverse, but still struggles to push forward and go. This can be a bit frustrating, but if what she wants is behind her, she's good to go! Olivia is so joyful and bursts with laughter at her sister's playfulness. Her current favorite things are remotes, her socks, mirrors, Lola's ponytail, green beans and squash!

Lola - How do I explain? Well, Lola is two. She has an amazing personality and keeps us laughing regularly. People often comment on how well she talks for her age. Our simple response is that she practices frequently! Lola now wears underwear during the day and has very few accidents (if any) throughout the week. We still struggle to find underwear that fit her petite body and to get her from telling people "good job" when they come out of the restroom, but we're proud of her anyway! Lola is a true "Daddy's Girl" and still squeals with delight every time he walks into a room. Many times, Kasey and I are humbled by her tender heart and extreme desire to learn more about Jesus. Her current favorite things are books, puzzles, dirt, singing, nightgowns, stick-on earrings and gum.

From the mouths of children and babies I'll furnish a place of praise. Matthew 21:16 (MSG)

Kasey - Our fearless leader continues to stay busy with farm business. In his free time he is currently working on restoring his '29 Model-A Coupe in hopes to have it finished for Cruise Night in July. He is also getting a mild case of "spring fever" as has become antsy about doing projects around the house. His most recent plans are to get the fence put up in the yard and he just brought home supplies to build me a clothesline. I've got to say, I've got it pretty great around here! Kasey's favorite things are cars, hunting, grilled burgers and his girls!

I continue to stay busy with family and school. Although, I am rejoicing as I have recently sought out the opportunity to work only part-time next year! We have been praying about this move for some time now and the details could not have played out more perfectly. What a blessing! God is really in control. I'm looking forward to spending more time at home with the girls next year and, although, there are sacrifices that must be made, we are at complete peace with what God has planned for our family.
