Beach Bum

We had a few 90 degree days this week so we've been playing outside trying to take in the last bit of warm weather. On this particular day, Lola woke up from her nap and wanted to play in the sprinkler with our dog, Hank. I decided to lay out and watch her play while reading a magazine and catching some rays before Liv woke up. After about 15 minutes, I went in to switch some laundry and check on Liv. When I came back out, I found this.....

This and That...

While Jes got a massage (which I recommend for every new mommy, whether it's your first or fifth baby), we got to take care of Calvin!

Out of the three little girls, Liv is the only one who is as interested in Calvin as I am. She and I give him lots of love while Ella and Lola play!

......................................................

For Liv's birthday on Wednesday, Grandma made cupcakes. Liv liked the cherry on the bottom!

We also got her some new shoes for her birthday.

They're perfect for our little walker!

.................................................................

Ella stayed with us on Thursday while Jes took her State Boards for Radiology - which she scored great on :). Here are the girls enjoying a movie. It must have been a good one because they wouldn't take their eyes off the T.V. to look at me!

Later that evening, we went out to meet Ella's new kitten. She named him Tokyo. We're not sure where she came up with the name, but she's pretty set on it!

Liv is not a big fan of cats so she sat on the swing with Grandma while we played.

Days of Summer are Gone...(almost)...

Our favorite summer activity, swimming at the pool, ended today. Our local pool closed for the season, which means that summer is nearing an end :(.

Here are a few swimming videos of Lola for you to enjoy!

And if you didn't get enough, here is Lola searching for a penny...

New Kittens

Our friends, Randy and Dianna Bislow have some new kittens. Jes is planning on keeping two at their house for Ella and Lola. We went out to their farm to meet them and to choose which ones to take home.

Birthday Lunch

On Sunday, we went to Central City to visit my brother, Rob's church. After the service, we went out to eat at our favorite mexican restaurant, "El Torro".

Rob and Calvin.

Ella "cutting" with a knife.

Lola coloring while we waited for the food.

Uncle Kasey held Calvin while Jes ate. He's good at calming the fussy babies!

Olivia got a new treat.
You take the French Fry....

...dip it in the ketchup...

...and take a bite. Not bad!

The ketchup experts says, "Good Job, Liv"!

Franklin's 125th Celebration

Franklin celebrated 125 years this weekend. Saturday was full of activities in the park and downtown.

It was a scorcher!

The Parade

Lola and Ella had their own float in the parade. Grandma Linda made them prairie dresses and Uncle Rob pulled them with the four wheeler. They even won a prize for the youngest participants!

The parade line-up.

Kasey drove the coupe in the parade.

Relaxing in the shade with Papa, Grandma, Papa Jay and Grandma Dee.

The Games

The Jumping Castle

Money in the wood chips.
Lola found eight cents!

The Turtle Race

Lola and Tiny Tim

And they're off!
Tiny Tim is the little guy behind all the big guys....

...however, his determination helped him pass up most of them. Unfortunatly, it was too little, too late. He ended up getting fourth in his heat which did not send him into the finals.

Lola was still proud of Tiny Tim's effort!

Ella and Teek at the starting line. Uncle Rob helped her start the race.

Teek didn't move very fast and veered away from the finish line. We're guessing he was tired after trying to escape from the pool we kept him in all night!

Each child received a pair of sunglasses for participating! Pretty cool, huh!?!?!

The Barbeque

That evening we enjoyed a free barbeque in the park. The town's old fire truck was displayed in the park so we took a few pictures of Lola perched in the seat.
